Penetrant testing offers great flexibility in adapting to the different shapes and sizes of the parts to be inspected.
The ISO 3452-4 standard provides valuable recommendations on equipment for implementing the method. It is best to remedy certain design errors that may affect the sensitivity and the probability of detecting (POD) of indications.
4.1 On-site inspection
A few aerosol dispensers of colour contrast penetrant, solvent and non-aqueous wet developer, and a few clean, dry, lint-free cloths are all you need for penetrant testing, even in difficult situations.
