10.  Staff training, qualification and certification

Training of Penetrant Testing staff is essential to guarantee the reliability of the inspection process. Correct application of the procedure, then interpretation of the indications found, and finally acceptance or rejection of the parts according to the criteria stipulated in the applicable specifications, require agents to acquire specific theoretical and practical knowledge.

In France, this training is provided by training centres approved by COFREND sectoral committees.

The current sector committees are :

• the Aerospace Committee. AFENDA FrANDTB is responsible for organizing, implementing and monitoring the aerospace industry's qualification/certification of level 1, 2 and 3 non-destructive agents to EN 4179/NAS 410;
