2. Organization

Cofrac (figure 1 ) comprises a general assembly, a board of directors, an internal audit commission and four section committees covering the activities of the various accreditation sections: "laboratories", "inspection", "certification of companies and personnel" and "environment and certification of products and services". The members of these bodies are divided into four colleges, represented in such a way that no single interest predominates:

• college A: accredited entities ;

• college B: professional groups of accredited companies' customers ;

• college C: consumer associations and public purchasers, customers of the two previous colleges;

• college D: public authorities....
