2. Organization

As specified in the decree of January 25, 2005, LNE oversees the French national metrology network with the help of a Metrology Committee made up of representatives of the main laboratories involved in metrology (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA), Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM), Observatoire de Paris, Laboratoire national de métrologie et d'essais (LNE) and CNRS], qualified personalities from the worlds of science and industry covering the widest possible range of metrology fields, and the ministries in charge of research and industry.

This Committee examines proposals from the various players in the French metrology field to define priorities, assess the relevance of projects, monitor and promote the results obtained, and draw up the corresponding budgets. It also makes proposals for medium-term work programming....
