Scientific integrity, which guarantees the honest and rigorous nature of research activities, refers both to a set of good practices that guide the behavior of the research community, and to a list of behaviors to be proscribed - breaches of scientific integrity. In France, it is now an integral part of the legal framework, becoming a legal standard in its own right. As a result, it is no longer just good practice that is the subject of a consensus within the scientific community, although most of its standards emanate from the scientific community itself. This integration has accelerated its institutionalization – necessary to harmonize practices and guidelines, raise awareness among all those involved in research, and prevent and deal fairly with any breaches of scientific integrity.
