2. The hen's egg

The structure and composition of a hen's egg are shown in figure 1 and table 2 .

2.1 Shell color

It's all a question of the breed of hen, and feed plays no part. These are the Leghorns, small, highly productive white hens that lay white-shelled eggs. So do Bresse hens.
