4. Two-level fractional plane

4.1 The benefits of this plan

We have seen that the two-level factorial design gives good results with a reduced number of trials. However, when the number of factors studied is high, the number of trials quickly becomes large and unfeasible, especially when the cost of a trial is high. The question is therefore whether it is possible to run fewer trials, even if it means repeating additional trials to confirm a result if necessary.
