7. Conclusion

This article highlights the growing importance of urban logistics in modern cities, while underlining the many challenges it poses. Urban logistics, defined as all activities aimed at organizing and optimizing the flow of goods in urban environments, has become a central element in the way cities function. It supplies people, services and businesses, but also raises complex issues in terms of the environment, energy transition, social issues, transport flow management and adaptation to new technologies.

One of the main challenges identified in the document is to reduce the carbon footprint of logistics activities. Urban logistics make a significant contribution to greenhouse gas emissions and local pollution, largely due to the prevalence of light commercial vehicles (including scooters and motorcycles) and heavy goods delivery vehicles, which are not yet carbon-free....
