Evaluation: definitions

"The purpose of evaluating a public policy is to assess its effectiveness by comparing its results with the objectives and resources implemented" (decree of November 18, 1998).

"The aim of evaluation is to produce knowledge about public actions, particularly with regard to their effects, with the dual aim of enabling citizens to appreciate their value and helping decision-makers to improve their relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence and impact" (Evaluation Charter – 2006).

Following on from the Grenelle 2 law on the "national commitment to the environment", a tool called "Référentiel pour l'évaluation des Agendas 21 locaux"...
