5. Example and feedback

The City of Metz has a population of around 121,000 (2010) and employs some 2,000 municipal staff.

The city of Metz, the cradle of urban ecology, has committed itself to sustainable and harmonious development in its area, notably through its Agenda 21, with the aim of integrating this dimension into all its public policies.

This political will has involved civil society, municipal services and the city's partners to ensure its success.
