3.1 Translating Agenda 21 into projects and actions

Today, territories, and more particularly towns, that commit their policies, projects and local players to sustainable development choose to set up an Agenda 21.

Agenda 21 literally means "action program for the 21st century". In other words, an Agenda 21 is an action plan of approaches, projects, actions and initiatives in favor of sustainable development. The objective of an Agenda 21 is the concrete, operational and measurable implementation of a sustainable development policy.
