Do I have to comply with calibration standards?

Compliance with most standards is a voluntary decision on the part of the company. Nevertheless, some customers, or contexts, may contractually impose compliance with a particular standard. If this is the case, and you have accepted the requirement (contract review), you must comply with it. If not, you can adapt them, but you still need to be familiar with them!

What is measurement process monitoring?

Monitoring" is any action that detects an anomaly in a measurement process. Monitoring can take many forms, and imagination is the key here. The most classic example is the "pebble on the scale", but there are many other highly effective strategies.
