The registration system, also known as the simplified authorization system, was introduced in response to the problems raised by the cumbersome nature of the authorization procedure. This system simplifies administrative procedures for operators of certain classified facilities, and reduces the overall duration of the procedure. It applies only to simple, standardized installations, for which general requirements are laid down at national level.
