 INTRODUCTION

This was the case with the creation of the so-called "Seveso" installations, which offer a higher level of prevention than a simple authorization regime (A), in order to take into account the major risks of certain establishments.

Following a number of major industrial accidents, it was deemed necessary to introduce new preventive measures at European level for certain establishments, in order to limit the impact of any accident linked to the use or storage of hazardous substances and mixtures.
