Should a risk analysis be carried out only when a hazard study is being carried out or updated?

No, risk analysis is a company tool that can be updated and used whenever products, processes or equipment need to be modified. It is used as a monitoring tool for the continuous improvement of plant safety levels.

Generally speaking, when is it mandatory to redo your risk analysis?

The risk analysis will have to be updated as part of the revision of a hazard study, i.e. :

  • when your installations undergo a substantial change (article R.512-33 of Code de l’environnement ), requiring you to update and submit a classified installation file;...
