4. Scale-up from laboratory to industrial reactor

The solutions considered all face the problem of plasma formation, whether corona or DBD. In the case of a volume plasma, obtaining a plasma requires the formation of a high-value electric field, which can be obtained by applying a high electrical voltage between two electrodes. Clearly, size extrapolation will soon come up against the problem of the voltage required to maintain an intense electric field as the distance between the electrodes increases. One solution is to multiply the number of small elements to obtain the desired processing capacity. This solution, although expensive and difficult to implement, is nevertheless the simplest in terms of design and efficiency prediction.
