Can feedback be used to characterize MMR performance?
Yes, and it's even advisable to do so, because feedback enables us to assess the performance of MMRs in their context of use. In particular:
For MMR response times, the times measured during periodic tests are to be preferred to "theoretical" evaluations based on "supplier" data.
For the probability of failure, it is possible to rely on the history of failures observed during periodic functional testing. However, it is necessary to have a sufficiently large sample size for the statistical analysis to provide representative results.
Are there any performance requirements for MMR?
No, because the performance of an MMR has an influence on the criticality of the accident...
