 INTRODUCTION

As part of hazard studies (EDD), industrial companies promote risk control measures (MMR). One of the requirements of the PCIG decree of September 29, 2005 is to be able to justify the efficiency of the MMRs selected: "To be taken into account in the probability assessment, risk control measures must be effective, have implementation kinetics in line with those of the events to be controlled, and be tested and maintained in such a way as to guarantee the sustainability of the aforementioned positioning". As a result, in the ESD, manufacturers are asked to characterize the MMRs used, justifying the following performance criteria:

  • efficiency ;

  • response time ;

  • probability of failure ;

  • testability ;

  • maintainability.
