5. Mistakes to avoid
5.1 Failure to check the new operator's due diligence in declaring a change of operator or applying for prior authorization
Since it is up to the new operator to declare the change of operator, or to request prior authorization for the change, you are dependent on the new operator's goodwill.
However, an oversight – or negligence – in carrying out these formalities can have serious consequences, since in such cases you will officially remain the operator in title, and in the event of difficulty, the prefectoral authority will turn to you even though you no longer have the status of operator.
