INTRODUCTION

Assessing the SIL level of a RIS involves several steps:

Step 1: Choose a calculation method ;
Step 2: Collect and estimate the data required for the calculations ;
Step 3: Check that the calculated SIL is compatible with the architectural requirements of IEC 61511.
