Is it possible to protect certain information among that which is communicated to CSS?

Yes, pursuant to Article R. 125-8-3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure ( Code de l’environnement ), it is possible to request that the prefect of the department (the police prefect in Paris) exclude certain information from being brought to the attention of the commission:

• information that could compromise manufacturing secrets;

• information that could facilitate the commission of malicious acts.
