2. How does SPPPI or S3PI work?

The prefectoral authority sets the terms and conditions under which the work of the permanent secretariats for the prevention of pollution and industrial risks is presented to it (article D. 125-36 of Code de l’environnement ).

SPPPIs or S3PIs generally operate along similar lines:

• Thematic commissions or working groups have been set up (water, air, waste, risks, etc.) and meet several times a year.
