4. Lifting stations

Where gravity flow of wastewater cannot be ensured due to the characteristics of the site, a lifting station may be required to lift raw wastewater upstream of primary treatment, pre-treated wastewater upstream of secondary treatment, or treated wastewater downstream of the ANC system for discharge. Irrespective of their location, lift stations must meet the following requirements:

  • specifications of the NF EN 12050 series of standards (maximum pit test deformation of 7.5%, tightness of substation, connections and access cover). The standard NF EN 12050-1 concerns raw sewage treatment plants and the norme NF EN 12050-2 applies to other items;
