2.1 Discharges and water intakes

The largest quantity of water used in a power plant is that used to cool the condenser, which can be either freshwater (river), seawater or estuary water, the prerequisite being a sufficient quantity.

Any other type available in large quantities could be used (brackish water, for example), but there are no such cases in France.
