Two types of action are possible, depending on whether the pollution occurs before or after the event.

Preventive pollution control actions
First of all, it's important to remember that in any industrial activity, production means managing a material and labor balance. Combating pollution means analyzing this material balance with regard to all the by-products and contaminants likely to end up in the water. It follows that, as part of a non-pollution approach, it is imperative to encourage manufacturers, at a preliminary stage, to invest in prevention by :
internal redevelopment, restructuring and separation of wastewater networks, water recycling and reuse... ;
modifications to manufacturing processes and "clean" processes, genuine...
