1. Presentation of the clarification
Clarification is the removal of suspended solids, colloidal matter (or colloids), and macromolecules (dissolved or colloidal) that can cause undesirable turbidity and/or color in water. Living organisms such as phytoplankton (algae), zooplankton, and some microorganisms (Figure 1 ) are also removed by clarification.
