3. ISA-88.04: production traceability infocenter

ISA-84 proposes a general model for "production records". In the context of ISA-88, this document is naturally aimed at batch processes.

However, as with the whole of ISA-88, if we disregard the relatively oriented terminology (the term "Recipe" is inapplicable to discrete processes [machining, assembly] or continuous processes [refining, energy production...], the concepts are sufficiently coherent and robust to be applied in reality to all types of physical activities.

This issue was raised during the development of ISA-88.04, which could (should?) have been ISA-95.XX. In fact, this standard no longer defines concepts for modular/flexible automation (ISA-88) or structures for data exchange between computer applications (ISA-95), but structures for storing information concerning the physical activity of industrial systems, a more natural...
