4. ISA-95.03: organizing traceability management

The functional exploration of the traceability system is carried out through the description of the business processes in which traceability is involved, or which directly concern the operation of the traceability system. Requirements in terms of functions and data detail can thus be set out and validated by the system's stakeholders.

ISA-95.03 defines a general activity model for structuring the functional requirements of industrial systems operations management.

Traceability takes its place in this model as a framework for gathering requirements on the one hand, and urbanizing IT applications on the other.

This model defines eight basic activities, which can be applied to different operational areas: Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, etc.
