4. Design methods
The design fields in which an ergonomist may be involved are diverse (products, architecture, industrial projects, etc.). The methods he or she uses are based on a set of common principles (presented in this section), and must be adapted to specific design processes 5 . Engineers wishing to collaborate with an ergonomist on a design project can use the methodological presentation below to plan the various essential components of this collaboration.
