6. Conclusion

Evaluating the performance of industrial systems is an essential element in companies' ongoing quest for greater competitiveness. Dependability is an integral part of this performance.

It describes and analyzes the mechanisms that lead to incidents and system failures, and proposes and evaluates the solutions to be implemented to counter these problems.

Dependability is the ability of a system to fulfill its mission and resist hardware, software and human failures, as well as environmental aggressions. In this way, it characterizes the performance of a system, playing a major role in achieving this performance.
