Every day, elevator manufacturers (Kone, Schindler, Thyssengroup) transport billions of people with machine fleets numbering several million units. According to ThyssenKrupp, more than twelve million elevators worldwide make seven billion trips every day, transporting more than one billion people. And yet, every year, breakdowns render elevators unavailable for a total of 190 million hours.
