2. Preventive maintenance
As defined in the above-mentioned standard, preventive maintenance is "maintenance designed to reduce the probability of failure or degradation in the operation of an asset". From this general definition, we can distinguish three variants:
systematic preventive maintenance ;
conditional preventive maintenance ;
predictive maintenance.
