4.1 Rheology
In all the above fields, bonding involves bringing the adhesive into contact with the two opposing surfaces to be mechanically joined. This bonding takes place over a given area which will ensure the joining of the two bonded materials with a thickness of adhesive which must be controlled over the entire contact surface, whether one or both surfaces are bonded. Deposition is carried out with a set quantity of adhesive and a set deposition area, and pressing the two opposing surfaces together will, on the one hand, cause the adhesive to flow to make its thickness uniform and, on the other, fill in crevices and ensure local contact between the surfaces and the adhesive.
