Determining DMELs

Producers and importers of a chemical substance must define DMELs in the REACh dossier, in order to protect workers, consumers and the general population potentially exposed to the chemical substance from mutagenic and carcinogenic risks.

DMELs must be defined for several types of population: workers, consumers and humans via the environment.
