INTRODUCTION
In order to standardize the effectiveness of toxicovigilance in the European Union, European authorities have developed common requirements through Annex VIII of the CLP Regulation. There are two types of requirements.
A reporting obligation for certain chemicals for all Member States: this includes an obligation to notify Member States of information relating to the product (classification, etc.). For an overview of all the data to be provided, see step 1 of How to report your UFI numbers via the IUCLID cloud tool?
.[FIC 1749] A requirement to display a unique identification number (known as a UFI number) on the label of chemical products: this number will serve as an identification number for all poison control centers in the EU where the product is marketed.
It is therefore essential to identify the products concerned and how this UFI number is generated. The purpose of this sheet is to guide you through this process.
