4. Find out about ECHA's checks on submitted dossiers
All inquiry dossiers submitted to ECHA are subject to a technical and administrative check. ECHA has no deadline for responding to an inquiry.
Experience shows that response times vary widely, from three days to around two months. However, ECHA has revised its procedure to speed up the evaluation of applications for so-called simple substances (generally mono-constituents), in order to direct the applicant to the appropriate co-applicant page.
However, for certain substances for which identifiers may be ambiguous or broad, ECHA carries out an expert evaluation, for which analytical information is required.
If the application is rejected for lack of sufficient information, the registrant must provide additional information and resubmit. There is no deadline for resubmission to ECHA.
