8. Conclusion

The various aspects mentioned and presented above reveal the immense potential of biochips. Biochip technology has benefited greatly from the emulation generated by our growing need for miniaturization, and their interest lies in their efficiency and the speed with which results are obtained, as well as in the density of information they contain. Although DNA chips have generated major advances in genomics over the last 20 years, they are now having to cope with the extraordinary developments in high-throughput sequencing. Nonetheless, the ease of use and reliability of these microarrays make them a mature tool for widespread, low-cost analysis, and they continue to make their mark in the market for diagnosing genetic or infectious diseases.
