3. Application of our process to other solid-phase detection formats
The results obtained with immunoliposomes in strip assays prompted us to evaluate this process in other techniques for detecting molecules on solid phase. In this context, we turned our attention to the western blot technique.
3.1 Immunoprinting and its limitations
Immunoassay is one of the most widely used methods for analyzing and detecting proteins present in complex media. First, the various components of a sample are separated by gel electrophoresis and then transferred to a solid phase (nitrocellulose, nylon or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane).
