8. Bearing selection procedure

Bearing selection depends on the conditions of use, taking into account the characteristics of each bearing type and their relative suitability. This choice is all the more appropriate when the technical data of the mechanism using the bearings are precisely defined.

8.1 Technical data required for selection

• Available dimensions.

• Radial and axial loads: levels? constant or variable? with shocks?

• Required service life (in hours or millions of revolutions).

• Speed: constant or variable? with oscillations?
