6. Causes and corrective actions

6.1 General rules

Let's summarize the rules to be applied to detect a problem and apply the solution (table 3 ):

  • systematic approach ;

  • Precise location and identification of the problem, answering the questions: what, how, when, where (temporary, local) ;

  • on-site verification of parameters (avoid sending samples to the laboratory whenever possible);

  • Based on the results, draw up a list of probable causes;

  • laboratory testing to identify the cause(s);
