AUTHOR

 INTRODUCTION

Machines, tools, lubricants, parts and workers are all components in a production system.

The importance of this study lies not in presenting the machining technique, but in explaining the design and possibilities of soluble oils, so as to develop an overview of their properties.

The function of soluble oils is to increase the efficiency of machining operations, which is reflected in higher productivity, longer tool life and improved surface finish within tolerances.

The main characteristics of soluble oils are :

  • high cooling power;

  • low initial filling costs;

  • no fire hazard;

  • low risk of fogging and smoke emissions due to high cutting speeds;

  • cleanliness of the working environment ;

  • cleanliness of machined parts;

  • low chip and workpiece drag.

Good soluble oils require close cooperation between users and manufacturers. Without this harmony, it is impossible to meet the requirements of a wide variety of users who demand the most varied products. As a result, each manufacturer is forced to pursue research in its own way, especially as user requirements vary in importance. Often, we encounter demands that cannot all be met at the same time, either because they contradict each other, or because they cannot be met by the means available today.

This study is divided into three parts:

Cutting fluids. Role in machining and classification ;

[BM 7 065] Cutting fluids. Soluble oils;

[BM 7 066] Cutting fluids. Whole oils.
