3. Know the connection obligations according to the type of building

At present, there is no requirement for existing buildings to be connected to a heating network, unless they undergo major renovation.

On the other hand, new buildings (apartment blocks or housing estates) or those undergoing major renovation work must be connected to the existing heating network if it has already been classified, or if they are located within the priority development perimeter served by this same network.

The classification of heating and cooling networks makes it possible to determine whether a new construction or major renovation project located near the network is subject to the obligation to connect.
