6. Our advice

6.1 Avoid condensation and mildew

The ambient air in a building generally contains water vapour, which condenses on contact with a cooler wall. Since the temperature of the walls in a passive building is close to the ambient temperature, this phenomenon is reduced or even non-existent. However, this must be taken into account.

Comfort criteria must be strictly adhered to in both winter and summer. The heat loss coefficient (U) of opaque walls must be around 0.15...
