10. Actors and support

There are two categories of energy auditors or diagnosticians:

• independent, i.e., not affiliated with any equipment, energy service, or energy supplier, ensuring a minimum level of objectivity and impartiality in energy saving proposals. These include design and consulting firms, consulting engineers, and consultants. Industrial technical centers (CETIAT, CETIM, etc.) and chambers of commerce may also offer more specialized energy analyses.

• commercial approach, i.e., affiliated with an equipment supplier (electrical, boilers, etc.), an energy supplier, or an energy efficiency services company.
