2. What are the standard's requirements and key points?
ISO 50001 is entirely focused on the continuous improvement of energy performance. Its overall structure comprises ten clauses. Clauses 1 to 3 detail the scope, normative references and terms and definitions of the standard. Clauses 4 to 10 describe the normative requirements. To move towards greater energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the standard recommends the implementation of the last seven requirements.
