4. Which certificate should I apply for?

Throughout this document, we have sometimes talked about ISO 50001:2011, and sometimes about ISO 50001:2018. ISO 50001:2018 is a revision of the previous one, which has focused on key points such as:

• roles, responsibilities and authorities ;

• employee consultation and participation ;

• actions to address risks and opportunities ;

• operational planning and control ;

• monitoring, analysis, measurement and evaluation.

These changes have a major impact on companies' compliance.
