1. How to identify the green gas production process in buildings?

Green gas can be biomethane, green hydrogen or a mixture of the two. Green gas is produced by a number of processes that use biomass or renewable electricity (solar, wind, hydraulic, geothermal) as renewable sources.

1.1 Methanization

Methanization or anaerobic digestion is the most widely publicized way of producing green gas. This is the phase in the transformation of wet biomass into gas, where biomass waste is stirred and heated in oxygen-deprived digesters for 60 days. These wet biomass wastes include household waste, sludge from wastewater treatment plants, agricultural products and those resulting from the upkeep of green spaces, as well as residues from the agri-food and catering industries.
