14. Conclusion

In this article, we've taken a look at the various principles involved in the operation and sizing of anchors in reinforced concrete structures. Although this fastening equipment is often considered basic, we have seen that a multitude of factors need to be taken into account at different levels:

  • regulatory ;

  • sizing method ;

  • choice of fastener ;

  • installation method ;

  • etc.

Technological developments in recent years have pushed the mechanical resistance of anchors to their limits, and it is now often the concrete itself that becomes the limiting element for fastening.
