2. Different dowel types and operating modes

As of 2019, the design and calculation of concrete fasteners must be carried out in accordance with NF EN 1992-4 (Eurocode 2 - Part 4: Design and calculation of concrete fasteners, 2018). This standard distinguishes 6 fastening technologies, developed below.

2.1 Chemical anchor (NF EN 1992-4 : 3.1.8)

Chemical anchors are fixings placed in a pre-drilled hole in the concrete, where a two-component resin ensures the bond between the two elements (figure 2 ).
