5. Aggregates market in France

5.1 Production

French aggregates production has reached around 400 million tonnes per year since 2000, with no significant change since then (cf. [ ]). This production can be broken down as follows:

• alluvial aggregates 34% ;

• marine aggregates 2% ;

• other sands 5% ;

• eruptive aggregates 29% ;

• limestone aggregates 25% ;

• artificial aggregates 2% ;

• recycled aggregates 3%.

Aggregates account for more than three-quarters of France's annual mineral production.
